Initially working in the field of sound, JOLT Arts is a not-for-profit arts organisation that now engages many artists across a wide range of creative disciplines to promote and build avant-garde culture. A key feature of the organisation has been its work for/by/with artists who are differently able, and who come to JOLT through the National Disability Insurance Scheme sector.
For The Big Anxiety Melbourne, JOLT has curated a series of events including Poetic Flock, an outdoor public art constellation of eight black tepees, which each house brief sonic performance for one audience member at a time, and Hagoromo, a performance combining contemporary sound art and traditional Noh theatre with state-of-the-art 3D volumetric visual projection.
