Professor Rapee is Distinguished Professor and ARC Laureate at Macquarie University. He specializes in mental health, especially in anxiety and related disorders across the lifespan.  He is best known for his theoretical models of the development of anxiety disorders as well as for his creation of empirically validated intervention programs.  His recent work has focused on prevention of anxiety and depression. He was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia in 2012 for his contributions to clinical psychology, especially among young people.
